Brent Parsons will lead the Proten Community Cup competition into 2024 after the Rankins Springs President was elected to the post of competition President at last Sunday’s AGM at the Griffith Leagues Club.

Parsons will be joined by ten other committee members, with his cousin Jamie Parsons continuing in the external role of publicity officer for the competition, while fellow competition founder and Goolgowi legend Geoff Hale will remain as a general committee member following his decision to vacate the Secretary and Treasurer roles after 5 years.

Outgoing Jimmy McDermott has stepped down from the committee altogether after a highly successful period at the helm of the competition.

Following on from Sunday’s AGM we are pleased to announce our committee for 2024 President – Brent Parsons (Rankins Springs), Secretary – Brad Lawrence (Ivanhoe), Treasurer – Heather McGinty (Ivanhoe).

General Committee: Geoff Hale (Goolgowi), Reece Wilson (Barellan), Ben Pittman (Hillston), Peter Hogno (Hillston), Corey Prior (Narrandera), Noka Prior (Narrandera), Rory Brown (Goolgowi), Nathan Streat (Rankins Springs), with one spot to be determined from Barellan.

Thank you to all our committee members for taking on the job in 2024!

Separate from the committee is the position of Publicity Officer – Jamie Parsons.

Thank you to outgoing President Jimmy McDermott for all your work during the 2022 and 2023 seasons along with your work as the Barellan representative since 2019. Running the competition while also playing and running your own club is a mammoth task so thank you for a great job!

Also thank you to outgoing secretary/treasurer Geoff Hale though he remains with the board. Secretary or treasurer is a big job on their own so doing both requires a lot of work which you’ve done on and off since 2018 so thank you once again for all your work!
