Footy fans across the Central Coast are gearing up for another massive season after the release of the 2024 competition draw earlier this week.

The competition has grown to 10 clubs across its First and Reserve Grade competitions, with Dora Creek joining from the Newcastle & Hunter Rugby League after a successful stint in that competition.

Other things of note include Ourimbah remaining in Reserve Grade after rejoining the competition last year, as well as The Entrance and Wyong fielding First and Reserve Grade teams alongside their First and Reserve Grade squads in the Newcastle Rugby League competition, meaning both clubs will field at least four open age squads in 2024.

Looking at key features of the draw, Round 1 will see a rivalry round of sorts, with local derbies between Berkeley Vale and The Entrance, Toukley and Wyong, Erina and Terrigal, and Kincumber and Woy Woy in First Grade.

Meanwhile, Dora Creek’s first assignment in the competition is a Reserve Grade-only fixture against Ourimbah, before their First Grade squad plays their first match at home against Toukley.

The Grand Final rematch between Erina and defending premiers Toukley will be hosted by the Eagles in Round 8, before the return encounter at Toukley in Round 18.

The competition will be one of few to pay across the June Long Weekend, much like their neighbours in the Newcastle league, with a full round scheduled over the weekend prior to the public holiday on the Monday.

The season will conclude on the weekend of August 24/25, with a four-team finals series to follow over the three weeks following.

Draws for Third Grade, Under 18s and Women’s competitions are still yet to come, with more clubs such as St Edwards Gosford and Umina Beach expected to field squads in the Thirds competition.
