The Murrurundi Mavericks have unveiled their Senior Men’s coaches for 2025 on the same day they announced their plans to return to the Hunter Valley Group 21 competition next season.
The Mavericks, who last competed in the Group 21 Reserve Grade competition in 2021, did not fielded teams in any grade in 2024.
The club detailed the coaching appointments in a Facebook post on Sunday afternoon.
“Please join us in extending a huge welcome to Shannon Brooks and Daniel Seves who will be taking the reins as co-coaches for the upcoming 2025 season,” the statement read.
“Under their leadership we are sure to have an exciting and highly entertaining year of football ahead of us.
It is unclear from the contents of the post whether the men’s team will play in First Grade or Reserve Grade, however given that the club previously fielded Reserves only in their last stint in the competition, Battlers For Bush Footy believes the latter of the two options is more likely.
The club has now begun its search for a Ladies’ League Tag coach, a grade that they last fielded in 2023.
“One missing piece: a fantastic Mavettes Coach – will it be you? Send us your Expression of Interest,” the statement continued.
The Mavericks were founded in the late 1800s as a rugby union club before switching to rugby league with the rest of the competition’s clubs in 1920.
