Western Rams select squads for Country Championships grudge matches with Riverina and Monaro

The wait is over for the Central West’s representative hopefuls after the Western Rams announced their 2025 Senior Men’s and Women’s squads for the upcoming Country Championships via Facebook earlier this week.

Both squads feature players from Groups 10 and 11 within the Peter McDonald Premiership, as well as the Castlereagh League competition, as the Rams look to build on mixed results last year, which saw their Women’s team take out the title while their Men’s team struggled.

The Rams Men will face the Riverina Bulls in round one of the Country Championships on March 9 at McDonald’s Park in Wagga Wagga.

In doing so, they will look to progress further than last year’s first round exit courtesy of a 16-14 loss to the Greater Northern Tigers in Narromine.

Meanwhile, the Women’s team will look to defend their title when they face the Monaro Colts on February 22 at Glen Willow Sports Complex in Mudgee.
