Rugby league fans across the ACT and broader Capital Country are gearing up for yet another mammoth season of bush footy action after the release of the 2025 Canberra Raiders Cup draw last month.

The season will kick off with a blockbuster opening round, headlined by a Grand Final rematch Queanbeyan Derby between the Blues and Roos at Seiffert Oval on Saturday, April 5.

Last season saw the two arch-rivals square off in a cross-town derby Grand Final at the same venue, with the Sam Williams-led Roos getting the spoils by a margin of 18-10. 

Other round one match-ups include a Hume Highway clash when Goulburn host Yass, while Gungahlin will host Tuggeranong at the Enclosed Oval and Woden Valley take on West Belconnen.

Round two will see another big rivalry match, with Belconnen and Gungahlin facing off in a match steeped in shared history.

Another finals rematch will take place in round seven, when Belconnen face Woden Valley, the team who eliminated them in last season’s Minor Semi Final.

The finals matchups continue in round eight, with Blues set to take on Woden Valley in a rematch of last season’s Preliminary Final, before the return Grand Final rematch in round 10.

The final weekend, round 18, will see Gungahlin square off with Queanbeyan Roos, Woden Valley take on Goulburn, Yass Magpies host Queanbeyan Blues, and West Belconnen face Belconnen, with Tuggeranong getting the bye leading into the playoffs.
