Lithgow Workies Wolves Rugby League Club shared their training sessions around the lower Blue Mountains region last week while Lithgow Show preparations took prominence.
Unable to utilise the Tony Luchetti Sportsground facilities, the two senior men’s teams and the league tag side visited nearby Wallerawang on Tuesday and Portland on Friday.
President Peter Morris was on hand, along with coaches Kip Maranda, Shane Morris and Jim Reinhardt.
Most of last season’s outstanding under-18 team are now available for selection for this year’s reserve grade, and the potential showed last year should enhance Lithgow’s prospects for 2025.
After taking their training sessions to the region last week, and with so many players originating from Wallerawang and Portland, there is a push for Workies to re-schedule a game to one of those centres during the season.
The club has returned to their normal training facilities at the Sportsground now that the Lithgow Show is over for the year.
