Woodbridge Wrap: Warriors down Grenfell to keep unbeaten record intact

John Fitzgerald

Orange United Warriors have secured a 36-8 victory over the Grenfell Goannas to keep their unbeaten record intact after three rounds of Woodbridge Cup action.

The match began on a sour note for the Warriors side, heavily penalised in the first 10 minutes for over-aggressive tackling, and two players dismissed to the sin bin.

The Orange side overcame their early discipline issues and settled into the rhythm that has seen them undefeated so far this season.

They piled on tries fairly easily against a reasonable-looking Goannas defence, and the 38-8 win maintains their position at the top of the table alongside the only other unbeaten side, reigning premiers Manildra.

The Warriors club started the day with their leaguetag side suffering their first defeat at the hands of a stoic Grenfell Girlannas.

The Girlannas stuck with the Orange side throughout the game, before their final-minute try saw take the game 18-12.
