Round 12 of the Woodbridge Cup saw a return to predictable results, although with some lopsided scorelines.
Manildra beat Molong 22-6, Orange United emerged 59-18 victors over Peak Hill, and Eugowra had a 58-6 win against Grenfell.
Cowra picked up two points with the bye from their scheduled match with Blayney, who withdrew from the competition earlier this season.
Oberon, with their weekend bye, retains outright leadership on 22 points, with Manildra and Cowra’s wins still leaving them two points behind in equal second place.
Canowindra, as expected, are moving up the ladder, after a 72-10 win over Cargo but, with the Tigers sitting on 16 points with only three games remaining and sharing their place with two other clubs behind Cowra, they will still have to keep winning to advance to an outright top-four position.
With no unpredictable results this weekend, there could be upsets that may affect the top sides next week.
Eugowra’s big win means in next week’s round 13 that visiting Oberon will need to be on their game, and Manildra, surprisingly beaten twice, host Canowindra who are on a roll and needing another win.
If the favourites win their games the clubs will head into the following week’s penultimate round in the same order as at present.
That round will definitely see some ladder-changing results with a couple of games certain to create movements for some clubs at the top of the ladder.
