The Old Bar Pirates have taken out their second Group 3 title three years after a 24-10 win over the Port Macquarie Sharks in the Grand Final at Old Bar Sporting Fields last Sunday.

The Pirates ran in four tries to the Sharks’ two after a dominant opening to the hard-fought encounter.

The Pirates opened the scoring through Emmanuel Solie in the 8th minute, and went on to score all of their four tries in the first 46 minutes, with Jared Wooster, Zayne Shutes and Jackson Whitby crossing the line to open up a 24-0 lead.

Kieran Gallagher crossed twice in the 51st and 62nd minutes, but ultimately, it was the Pirates’ day, with Old Bar holding on to record a 14-point win and take out the title.

Old Bar prop Brady Barwick took out man of the match honours for his performance.
