The South City Bulls have landed the biggest signature in Group 9, after announcing that star five-eighth Nathan Rose will re-join the club for the 2026 season.
Rose, who was a key player in the Bulls’ back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017, returns to the club after stints at Gundagai and Wagga Kangaroos.
Rose’s time at the Tigers yielded a title in 2022, before his switch to Kangaroos, which was unsuccessful by the same measure as the team lost three consecutive Grand Finals, such is the high bar he has consistently set in his career.
The Bulls have been active in the player market over the off-season, securing the services of Mat Lyons and Joel Tracey in addition to incoming coach Luke McBeath for the upcoming campaign.
These additions, alongside the club’s established stars Cody Hodge and Kyle McCarthy, have led some around the league to install the Bulls as one of the premiership favourites in season 2026.
McBeath replaces outgoing coach Cleve McGhie, who has joined Wagga Brothers for the upcoming season.
The 2025 season will begin with Group 9 taking on Group 20 in the Kelly Cup on February 14, before the regular season begins in early April.
